Jim Jordan wrong. We must make lying wrong again.

Columbus Dispatch

Jim Jordan loves the lying

U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan said on "60 Minutes" he wants media sources to accept lies in their presentation of the news. The citizen is to determine if these lies spread by the media are false.

Really? We are now going to allow known falsehoods to be spread?

The cornerstone of any government, relationship and business should be based on the truth. How in the world could we deal with and advocate the spreading of lies?

Letters to the Editor:Could Jim Jordan please stop embarrassing us.

The law and all religions operate on the premise that truth should be the benchmark of dealing with one another.

We cannot allow elected leaders to claim immunity from our laws because they are politicians. The path to lawlessness is through accepting lies.

U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) made an appearance ahead of former President Donald Trump to campaign outside Wright Bros. Aero Inc. at the Dayton International Airport for U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno on Saturday.

News media should not be allowed to spread lies that damage people and our democracy.

Would cartoonist draw Mohammed crying?

I realize political or editorial cartoonists are not objective journalists. They have opinions and often offend, anger or ridicule people, sometimes mercilessly.

But the political cartoon by Christopher Weyant on March 24 referencing the Israel-Hamas war was very disturbing, showing the Biblical Children of Israel — apparently representing the modern state of Israel — angry because Moses was not taking their side.

I guess I will wait and see whether the cartoonist also draws Mohammed, holding a Koran and weeping over the mutilated bodies of men, women and children, who were primarily but not exclusively Jewish, on Oct. 7 in Israel.

Could foul air be coming from corrupt Republicans?

Re "Study: Columbus is most polluted major city in US," March 21: I recently saw an article about the poor air quality in the city of Columbus.

According to the sixth annual World Air Quality Report prepared by IQAir, Ohio's capital city has the distinction, for the second year in a row, of having the most polluted air of any major city in the United States.

I suspect there are many factors contributing to this problem, and one of them certainly must be the stench emanating from the corrupt Republican politicians who are in state government primarily to benefit themselves, their families and their cronies.
