A Hilliard man wanted on a murder warrant in connection with an April 12 homicide at a house party on Columbus' Northeast Side surrendered Wednesday afternoon to the Hilliard Police Department.

Rashaud Antonio Roberts, 34, of Hilliard, is charged by Columbus police homicide detectives with murder for the shooting death of 36-year-old Isaac Price. Hilliard police turned Roberts over to Columbus police and he is being held in the Franklin County jail in lieu of $1,000,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 26, according to Franklin County Municipal court records.

In a probable cause affidavit, Columbus homicide detectives accuse Roberts of shooting Price with a handgun just before 11:30 p.m. April 12 in the 2100 block of Lisa Drive after the two got into an argument. After Roberts shot him, Price ran from the scene and collapsed in a driveway at a home in the 1400 block of Dubay Avenue, less than half a mile from where he was shot.

Columbus police initially reported that Columbus fire medics pronounced Price dead at 11:23 p.m., but the affidavit states that Price was pronounced dead at 11:41 p.m.

Homicide detectives were able to identify Roberts as a suspect by speaking with multiple eyewitnesses, according to the affidavit.
