You don't have to be a golf fan to participate in the fun leading up to the Memorial Tournament, which includes The Dublin Cup: Play 9 scavenger hunt, a 4-mile race and a free round of disc golf in Riverside Crossing Park.

The Memorial Tournament doesn't begin until June 3, but you can get into the swing of things now with related events leading up to the annual golf tourney.

Play has already started for The Dublin Cup: Play 9, back for the third year. Get a scorecard and Memorial Tournament koozie at the Dublin Visitor and Information Center or the North Market Bridge Park office, then putt around downtown Dublin to complete at least nine of the 18 interactive-passport stops at restaurants and bars around town through June 9.

Participating stops include: Market Bar, Market Bar Vinoteca, North High Brewing, Dublin Village Tavern, Frank & Carl's, 16-Bit Bar + Arcade, Pins Mechanical Co., Getaway Brewing Co., Missing Jimmy's, Urban Meyer's Pint House, Local Cantina, The Roosevelt Room and Our CupCakery.

Have a staff member at each business sign your passport and when you complete the activity, take a photo and post it on social media with the hashtags #TheDublinCup and #TheMemorial.

Bring your scorecard to the North Market Bridge Park office to be entered to win the "Summer in Dublin" grand prize, which includes Memorial Tournament swag, Dublin-area restaurant gift cards, a Dublin Market tote and four tickets to the Dublin Irish Festival.

Other happenings ahead of the tournament include:

  • The 2024 FORE! Miler: This 4-mile road race benefiting Nationwide Children's Hospital and Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation. begins at 7 p.m. May 30 at Muirfield Village Golf Club. Open to walkers and runners, the event comes with free FORE! Miler apparel and a finisher's medal, free entry to the postrace party in the Golden Bear Club and other goodies. Registration is $55 through race day (or until sold out).
  • Nine-hole disc golf and footgolf: No clubs are needed to play a round at this free course in Riverside Crossing Park. Instead of clubs and balls, disc players use flying discs on the fairway. The goal is to get the disc in the baskets at the end of each hole in the least number of strokes, considered a throw.
